We have had a busy but enjoyable start to Year 2. Everyone is settling in well and working hard.

Important Information

P.E.  is on  a Wednesday and Friday- please make sure P.E.Kits are in school. Homework and spellings will be given out every Friday and should be returned  on Wednesday. Spellings tests will be on a Friday. Reading books – Children need to take reading books that need changing out of their bags and put them into the blue tray so that they can be changed.

Year 2 Musical Instruments -Project Day

Project Day -Tuesday 29th March -Appeal

On Tuesday 29th March we are having a special project way linked to rubbish and recycling.
We will be making musical instruments from recycled materials, either a maraca or a guitar. We are therefore asking if the children can bring in small cardboard boxes / plastic containers such as empty yoghurt pots / pringles tubes / tissue boxes / shoe boxes etc.

Thank you for your help we are looking forward to an exciting day.

Half Term

We have had a great half term and we are looking forward to next half term. Year 2 have been set a homework project to make a model from recycled materials and to explain it. This links to our new topic -What a Load of Rubbish- focussing on recycling and materials in science.

Australia Day

We have had a fantastic day to day learning about Australia day and building our own versions of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We worked really well in groups to succeed with our challenge. We tested materials for strength and suitability for the task, designed our bridges and then made them. It was a fantastic day.
